Richard George – SEO and Internet Marketing
I have been working in the online world since the late 1990′s. Unlike many professionals in SEO and digital marketing my back ground is in business and finance. I feel this gives me a commercial edge to compliment my technical understanding.
I joined a small team in 1999 to get a number of websites from concept to fruition in the financial services and energy price comparison markets.
The late 2000′s working as a freelance consultant provide expert advice on SEO and SEM strategies along with developing and project managing a number of web site projects through full life cycle of concept, design and delivery.
Early 2010 to October 2011 I headed the Off page and Content teams at Just Search, delivering strategy across Europe for all our offices.
My current role is with MEC Global as SEO Director based in Manchester. MEC are part of GroupM and one of the leading media agencies in the UK. My position within MEC is to co-lead the UK team of 35 staff across both Manchester and London offices. Responsibilities include strategy and direction of the Search team, client management and liaison, and new business development and growth.
MEC work with a varied range of search clients include Nintento, Transform Cosmetic Surgery, EE (Everything Everywhere), Bank of America, Johnson and Johnson and Microsoft.
In 2012 I have started to guest industry leader lecture at the Salford University “Search and Social Media Marketing course” in Manchester.
